New Hope Valley Railway, the Triangle’s Train! Take a step back in time for an historic railroad experience in a covered, open-air passenger car pulled by our locomotive through scenic woods. Hundreds of visitors from across the state travel to New Hope Valley Railway (NHVR), located just 30 minutes south of Raleigh off of U.S Highway 1, Exit 89, to enjoy our exciting train rides on excursions offered from April through November each year. We also have special event ride days and our popular Halloween and Santa trains.
My son Ethan grinned from ear to ear during the entire hour-long train ride on the real New Hope Valley Railway train. He was over the moon about getting to see and touch all the train engines and cars up close. We can’t wait to go back!
